November Student Spotlight

Congratulations to Annika Martins for being awarded November's Student Spotlight. Annika consistently exhibits our Wayland Middle School's core values of Belonging, Empathy, Respect and Trust. She is always a positive presence in class and works hard to help others be successful.  We applaud her kindness and willingness to help. Way to go Annika!

Tell us about yourself. What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time I like to play mostly soccer and basketball, but I also like to read and hang out with friends/ family.
Why is being active important to you?

Being active is important to me because it helps your body stay in shape. If you don’t stay in shape it’s going to affect you later in life. Also playing sports is fun!
What advice would you give to a student who doesn’t like to exercise?

If someone doesn’t like to exercise I would probably give them the advice of doing stuff they enjoy.

Favorite Wellness unit and why.

My favorite wellness unit is probably lacrosse because I haven’t played lacrosse before and I’ve had had a surprise liking into it.

When I want a healthy snack I reach for apples and peanut butter.

To relax take deep breaths and chill out.

If I were a WMS Wellness teacher I would add ??? to the curriculum.

If I were a wellness teacher I would probably add tennis to the curriculum.

On my first day of school I wish I knew the rules of lacrosse and how the game worked.
